Our promotional features team is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer. This role is focused on developing and optimising promotional features for our gaming platforms, where performance, scalability, and cutting‑edge solutions are paramount. The ideal candidate is product‑passionate, enjoys solving deep tech engineering problems, follows a “PoC first” approach and has a strong sense of ownership.
Develop and maintain robust backend systems for promotional features; Optimize existing systems for enhanced performance and scalability; Lead technical decisions and contribute to SaaS solutions; Collaborate with distributed teams to innovate and implement new features; Ensure code and architectural excellence through reviews; Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions; Participate in on‑call rotations to ensure reliability and availability of systems.
Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (primary backend stack); Open to strong backend engineers from other ecosystems (e.g., Go, Java, C#, C++) who can ramp up quickly; Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency patterns; Experience building distributed systems and working with messaging and coordination tools (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, distributed locks); Experience with gRPC in production; Solid knowledge of databases: relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL), columnar (ClickHouse), NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB); Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Kubernetes; Skilled in building and maintaining unit and end‑to‑end tests; Proven track record of delivering production‑ready solutions; Experience with large‑scale microservices architectures.
Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
