The Hamrin Block is comprised of 535 km2 and contains one producing field. The Hamrin field produces oil primarily from the Tertiary (Miocene) reservoirs — the Jeribe and Euphrates formations — with the Dhiban formation as a secondary reservoir. Position Summary: Support all projects from concept development to commissioning and will provide continued assistance to operational needs as required, this will include all aspects of project engineering from design development to operational support. Main Duties & Responsibilities: A. Performance Expectations: Support the Projects Manager in all aspects as per the HKN Hamrin Project Governance Standard and the specific project execution plan(s). Able to work effectively as part of a team but also to work on own initiative and taking a proactive approach. Ability to take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion. Adopt pragmatic, fit for purpose approach striving for simplicity. Able to work with several simultaneous activities, prioritising as necessary. B. Competency (Knowledge & Skills) Required: Produce cost estimates in line with the project requirements, including using information from vendor quotes and internal budgetary norms. Produce progress schedules in line with project requirements. Produce Material Take-Off lists and Bill Of Materials lists from engineering deliverables. Attend factory acceptance tests, as required. Produce Request For Quote (RFQ) documents for submission to 3rd parties. Produce Technical Bid Evaluations on received bids. Produce Scope of Work documents for 3rd parties, such as Construction SOW. Assist in compiling commissioning plans and field activities. Track both cost and schedule/progress performance and produce regular reports. Interface with Production Department on Production Readiness and Handover and Acceptance. Demonstrable specific experience working with an Oil & Gas Operator. Well-developed Management of Change skills working closely with the engineering contractors, Operations and subsurface teams. Minimum Qualifications: A. Education and Qualifications Expected / Required: Degree/ diploma in applicable numerate discipline - mechanical, process, chemical, petroleum engineering preferred. A Chartered Engineer B. Experience Expected / Required: Typically, 12 years of experience as a Project or relevant discipline engineer with extensive experience of supporting onshore oil & gas projects with an operator. Previous engineering experience in the Middle East is essential. Kurdistan experience is a bonus. C. Other Relevant Competency Requirements: Good team member and leadership skills Must be experienced at communicating effectively and succinctly with company senior management, partner and government representatives. Excellent understanding of the English language, both spoken and written.
