The Lead Engineer drives the technical direction and delivery of complex digital experiences across multiple client engagements. In this role, you will architect solutions, guide engineering teams, and collaborate directly with stakeholders to build scalable, CMS-driven web platforms. It requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution to maintain high engineering standards.
Lead the technical architecture, development, and delivery of complex digital projects; Partner with strategy, design, production, and engineering teams to define technical approaches; Serve as a technical lead and point of contact for client stakeholders; Build scalable, maintainable web applications and CMS-driven platforms; Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and guide standards and best practices.
6–8 years of software or web development experience, ideally in an agency environment; Strong expertise in JavaScript, PHP, and modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, Node.js); Advanced experience with Drupal and WordPress CMS platforms; Deep understanding of Drupal architecture, APIs, custom modules, and theming; Knowledge of LAMP stack, cloud platforms (AWS, Acquia, Pantheon, Azure, GCP), Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to have experience with Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing, DevOps, Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban), mentoring developers, performance optimization, and project management tools like Jira.
