Private-Sector Employee
A copy of your written contract, payslips and any correspondence are your real evidence if a dispute ever comes up.
Iraqi Labour Law No. 37 of 2015, Article 37(1), requires employers to keep a written copy of individual employment contracts available for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. As a worker, you should keep your own copy of: (1) your signed employment contract, (2) payslips or salary receipts, (3) any written communication about your duties, wage changes, or disciplinary matters, and (4) your social-security registration confirmation. These are the real documents you would need if you ever have to raise a Salary, Contract, or Social Security complaint.
Legal basis
Employers must keep a written contract copy available for the Ministry of Labour (Article 37(1)); workers should keep their own copies of the contract, payslips, and any relevant written correspondence.
