Private-Sector Employee
The Kurdistan Region has its own minimum-wage decision, separate from and higher than the federal Iraq minimum wage.
As of August 2025, the KRG Council of Ministers set the minimum monthly wage for unskilled workers in the Kurdistan Region at 450,000 IQD (with a daily minimum of 15,000 IQD for daily workers). This is separate from — and higher than — the federal Iraq minimum wage of 350,000 IQD/month, which was set under Article 63 of Labour Law No. 37 of 2015 and has applied since 1 January 2018. If your employer pays less than the applicable minimum for your category of work, this is a real wage-law issue you can raise through the Salary Problem complaint channel.
